Beautiful place. Dark woods. Iron rivets. Modern feel. If the burgers were as good as the decor, I'd be back...but they weren't. Overpriced. Under-seasoned and super greasy (like used 5 napkins on one burger greasy). I ordered the Cheesy Bacon Burger and the toppings were an excellent combination. Instead of just a cheese slice, it was a parmesan cheddar crisp and it was delicious. But the burger itself was plain. No salt. No pepper. Nada. And at $10.50 for a burger and (literally 10 fries), I'm gonna pass on a return visit. And you should too.

Nice selection of craft beer, many from Indiana.Interesting old photograph reproductions of Ft Wayne hanging around. "Built my own" burger, and came up with a good one for $6.50. Asked for it medium, and surprisingly it was not overcooked. Not bad at all. My grandsons kids meal pizza was ok. Service was very good, although they were not that busy. My grandson loved the train. Nice place for a burger/beer.

If I could leave less than one star, I most definitely would. I would never leave a review (good or bad) until doing my research. I just returned home after a disappointing meal. So... I will start by saying the atmosphere is great, but that is not why I go to a restaurant, and that's most certainly not what keeps me coming back. For a company that claims that burgers are a way of life, they do an incredibly poor job with executing a simple burger cooked medium. Like many other reviews have said, the burgers are overpriced for what they are. As for the beer, I can get the same, if not better, craft beer down the street at 800 degrees or from the liquor store. Since this was my first (and last) experience at Bagger Daves, I decided to create my own burger. I ordered an 8 oz. "prime rib" patty with smoked Gouda as well as cheddar cheese. When it arrived, I was instantly disappointed. The cheddar was shredded which just disgusted me, but the only reason I could tell was because it wasn't melted. My suggestion for you is to work on your product. It needs to be reworked from square one of you want a loyal customer base.

Bagger Dave's burger tavern could be more appropriately named "6 guys burgers and fries." Apparently adding that six man to payroll required quite the price increase compared to our friends at 5 guys. The atmosphere is nice but the presentation of your $12.00-$18.00 burger on deli paper doesn't really stand up to the price point. The quality of the burger is good but again doesn't quite stand up to the price. The turkey chili was amazing, and they have a build your own loaded fries option but doesn't include the chili as a topping. Am I missing something here? At 3 stars it ranks closer to 2.5 in my opinion. Staff was great as well as the service just not seeing a love of value in a mediocre burger joint. If you think this is great I highly recommend trying your local food truck for a less expensive better option.

Everything at Bagger Dave's was quite nice. The food was good the atmosphere was pleasant. Though it may not seem like a problem for most, the amount of choices is a bit overwhelming and can be a bit confusing. Scaling down the menu might help navigate your way around. All in all I would eat here again and did enjoy my burger

The open atmosphere and decor are nice. The craft beer selection is good, but small compared to other places in town. The house salad was ok, while the burger was a major disappointment given the cost (lacked flavor altogether). Service was terrible! No drink refills were offered throughout the entire meal. Once we received our food we didn't have our waitresses attention until we handed her our card. This was our second attempt at trying to like Bagger Dave's, but we won't be back.

The food was excellent. Service...not so much. Took forever for our server to come. And they weren't overly busy. Once we were able to get our order in, it came out wrong. Was really hoping this could be a go to burger place for us but this was not a very good first impression.

We went here for lunch since the last time we tried to go here it was an hour wait. We walked right in and got a table. They don't carry Coke or Pepsi products; the sodas are house made. I had the diet cola and it tasted okay. Our food came out in a timely manner. I decided to make my own burger. There are sheets of paper and pencils at each table that allows you to check mark everything you want your burger to have. My hubby got a chipotle BBQ bacon burger. He said it was not spicy at all, but had good flavor. My burger was pretty good, too. I got a bleu cheese swiss burger. My hubby got the twisted Mac and cheese as a side. I had a few bites. It seemed heavy on the pepper. I probably wouldn't get it myself. I opted for the homemade fries. They were very tasty. While we were eating, a huge party of people came in. (Probably 20 people). The staff collected all the tables around us to make a huge table for the party which is what I would expect them to do. It felt like after the tables were mashed together, my hubs and I were eating alone in the middle of the room. Kinda awkward, but they did accommodate the huge party. I couldn't help but notice how disorganized the wait staff was with the huge party. They are still very new, so I'm sure it will get better. Overall, it was a good experience. We will probably go back when the crowds die down.

Food was overall pretty good. Beer selection was kickass. Whiskey selection was kickass. The black bean turkey chili was really tasty. The chocolate malt was probably the best I have ever had. Wife and I were out the door, 2 craft brews, 2 entrees and 2 desserts for $34 +tip. It's a really neat restaurant. Exactly what north Fort Wayne needed. The wife wasn't overly thrilled with the Chili Mac....heavy on noodles and jalapeños, but the cheese and chili were sparse. She loved the Twisted Mac I got as a side with my SUPER AWESOME TASTY DELICIOUS BURGER! We'll go back...the kids will love it!!

Loved the Indiana craft beers, even though one that was on the menu was unavailable. Other house drinks were good. Restaurant was clean and nice. The food however was very unimpressive. The burgers had the look, consistency and taste of a frozen patty. The fries were decent, dipping sauce seemed very salty. I'd consider another visit to try the craft brews, but I'd pass on the food.

We went into Bagger Dave's for the first time yesterday. We were seated quickly. We ordered our drinks. Catastrophe then took place. Our waitress came out with our drinks and spilled them all over one of the people at our table! They handled this situation very well. They were very apologetic. We cleaned up our guest and moved tables. The manager came out and was very nice and actually comped our meals. Even after that great ordeal, the food was delicious. I had the Train-wreck burger. It was wonderful. I also loved the sweet potato chips. The Mac and cheese was also scrumptious. I will be back to Bagger Dave's!

Obviously ordered a burger. There wasn't any seasoning on it (in turn no flavor). I had to put salt and pepper on it myself. Really good Mac and cheese, but sadly that's about it. Average burgers. Red Robin trumps this place on burgs.

First time here, the setup is nice and has a good feel to it. The beer selection is good, but mixed drinks selection failed miserably. For example no Jameson or options on many favorites. Food was good and the place has a lot of potential. The wait staff on the other hand takes away for the whole experience as they make you feel uncomfortable taking orders and take a while to get your food and drink out. The wait staff needs better training plain and simple.

We had high hopes for Bagger Dave's, but they were dashed. A group of four of us went for dinner at around seven on a Sunday. Let me start with that annoying train and the silent TVs. If you are going to put Tvs in a room, turn them up. Trains should just be a no-no. How loud and obnoxious! By the end of the meal, I ran out the door to get away from all that noise, Noise, NOISE! Not a whole lot of customers for the staff they had on hand. Our waitress was nice, but not terribly attentive. Only house cola, which was not too bad, almost a mix between Coke and Dr.Pepper, without too much of either. The orange cream left something to be desired. The apps were good, and got us excited for the rest of our meal. The wait for the main part of our meal was long. We each got a burger/sandwich and a side. After the wait, everything came out just warm enough to still be edible, and cooled down quickly. We all tried a bite of what everyone had ordered. The Twisted Mac and Cheese came out a little too wet, almost soupy in both orders. It was good tasting the first few bites, but after growing too cool while eating my sandwich it was weird. My Ono Chicken Sandwich had good flavors, but like everything else was a litte on the cold side. The sweet potato chips were very good. The burgers were just burgers, the fries, just fries. Nothing extraordinary there, a little cool as well. We had to all laugh that in the menu one of their chefs is quoted as the turkey burger being their favorite item on the menu. What does that say about your claim to fame Triple Prime Beef burgers? We did not realise until after ordering drinks, that everything was ala carte. So we realised it was going to be pricey, but dang. Over a hundred buck for an okay burger joint. I will not be going back. Maybe it's meant for a hipper crowd than me, but it was too expensive for okay burgers and $5 soupy mac and cheese. A few items were pretty good, that is why it gets 2 stars.

Best burger I have had in a long time. Prepared exactly as I liked it. My first time here but I will return. Next trip I want to try some of the Indiana crafty beers or maybe the Indiana Bourbon. Sure would get the burger again!

Some friends and I went there on New years' night. The problem that we had was our service was BAD. We waited 20 mins for our drinks. When we did order we had to wait 45 mins to an hour for our food. They weren't busy at all. The food was decent if a lil pricey. But I will go back to see if the service does improve. If not then I don't think I'll be back after a second time.

Visited 12/26/13 for lunch @ 1:00. Food was great, but due to problems in the kitchen our food didn't arrive until at least an hour after we placed the order. Manager apologized - and ultimately discounted our bill significantly - without being asked. Realizing this is restaurant is newly opened - they really need to work out some issues in the kitchen. Will definitely give them another try.

I really wanted this place to be awesome but it was just another restaurant in a place where there are a ton of average places to go. The parking lot is a train wreck. Pot holes, tons of cars with no order, but that isn't really the restaurants fault The burger was just ok... I had a BBQ bacon burger and my wife had just the American cheese burger. Get the bigger size of you can not really taste it. The fries tasted great but they were all tiny pieces. It could have just been the end of the bag or something. I was not impressed. Beer was cold and my wife's drink was good but more like kool aid (her words) The service was actually pretty poor. She tried but was just not friendly and slow to attend the table. With all the choices around DuPont I would pick another place over going here again

For the price this falls way short. The burgers are average at best and the prices are completely too high. The flavor of the burgers is bland and if you want a side it's at least 3.25 extra. So for a so so burger, chips and a drink it's about 17.00 before tip. Not even close to worth it. The service is average at best. I will not be back.

We tried Bagger Dave's tonight for the first time. The menu offers a wide variety of interesting burgers, salads and baked items like the Twisted Macaroni which my daughter tried. I ordered a BBQ bacon burger but received a blue cheese burger...which the waiter returned to the kitchen and replaced with the right burger a few minutes later. The sweet potato chips were crunchy and came with a choice of three dipping sauces. I chose the caramel which was a nice compliment to the chips. My wife had the fries and she approved but found the bun on her burger almost on the edge of burned. The burgers were flavorful but a little over-cooked. The toppings spilled out from the bun making it tough to hold it all together. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable but the bass level on the music system was a little loud, making it tough to hear each other...maybe that's why I got the wrong burger the first time. They also offer a nice selection of craft beers from Indiana breweries, flights of beer samples as well as their own craft sodas. We enjoyed their versions of Ginger Ale and Diet Cola. When delivering the bill, everyone at the table also gets a tootsie roll. Sadly, our waited forgot to bring us any...just the bill. Overall, a good start. We'll be back to try Bagger Dave's again soon.

Good food terrible service! Waited for an hour for group of 10 while people were seated aged of us! Did not make any attempt to try and accommodate at all. We left hungry and took our $300 elsewhere! Have been there before with 2-4 people and service was very slow and sloppy as well. It's too bad as the food is good.

My wife and I went on a date here last night. The food was great, we both got burgers and fries and they were very good. Actually, we had a five-star evening, until we left. Bagger Dave's allows you to use this and CR hey app to pay your bill. You can use your phone to scan a QR code on your check, and a on the phone. Our server was the bartender, and she had customers when we got our bill. We paid using the ncrpay app, and since she was busy we left. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, I see our server standing on the sidewalk outside of the restaurant looking for somebody. I pulled the car up to the sidewalk, and she said hey, you didn't pay your bill! I'm not the type of guy that bails on a bill, so I parked the car right in front of the restaurant, left my wife in the car, and went back inside. When I walked in, everybody in the place is looking at us, I had to walk past 10 staring employees at the kitchen, and walk all the way back to the bar. I told the girl that I paid the bill via the app, but she said she didn't see it. When we got into the bar, everybody in the bar is looking at us as we walked back. When the girl got behind the bar, she went to the computer, and said, oh, here it is, it must've taken a second to go through but it went. Then she said hey, you didn't sign it. I told her, yes, it asked me to sign in the app. He said well, I don't see that, here's a copy to sign, I'll get in trouble if I turn in a receipt that's not signed. She offered no apology for the screwup. As I was leaving, I realized I couldn't let this go without letting a manager know. I wanted to make sure that this sort of thing does not happen here often, because if you do business using an app, you should make darn sure that your customers have paid for their food before you humiliate them and chase them in the parking lot and then lead them through a busy restaurant on a Friday night as if they bailed on a bill. For the managers part, she did everything correctly. She informed me that the employee handled the situation very poorly and violated company policy is in the way she handled the situation. She also apologized profusely. This was a five-star meal, we had a great night, until we left. I took the two stars, because of the experience after we left. The manager, saved this review from being a one star. I would also say, that I'm disappointed that this happened after I left the tip on the bill.

Although it's a cool concept and probably better for having a couple drinks, I can't endorse any of our food items. Ono chicken wasn't bad but not great. I had the Italian ( Philly) and asked for BBQ in addition to au jus so that should speak volumes. Neither of us cared for the twisted Mac. All the good was very plain to us.

Great burger and fries for a very reasonable price. First time here and I'm definitely coming back!

Holy Cheeseburger is this place good! Nice craft beer selection and the make their own soft drinks. The decor is fun and upscale for a burger place. We went for lunch and the were pretty busy but the servers were pros. You can pick from a selection on the menu or design your own. I had smoked Gouda, sautéed mushroom and onions, bacon, and BBQ sauce and it was heaven. Not on the body beautiful plan though guys and gals. Also, the twisted Mac N Cheese as a side, YOWSA!! If you think you love burgers but have not been to this place yet, you are fooling yourself. Man, now I'm hungry.

I had looked forward to trying this place. I had a burger, fries and a soda. With tip, came out to be almost 18.00, tipping at 15%. I can't justify going back. The burger was good, the fries were average. The custom sodas they make are not the greatest. The Black cherry Cream tasted like some type of medicine. I tried their Cola afterwards and it was like a less sweet Coke and semi flat. The servers were attentive. Overall, no real complaints per se', it was just, "Meh". I feel it is overpriced for what it is. Won't make it a point to go back but might go back if I was in the neighborhood of one and there was nothing else around to tempt me.

There was a lot of hype for this place so I was super excited to try it out. The atmosphere is cool, great beers, food options seem great. I had a wonderful house salad with my burger! It might be one of my favorites with the addition of craisins and pineapple! Now I am a huge burger fan, so I was slightly disappointed with this place. The burgers are thin, a little dryer than I'd like, and definitely seemed like a frozen patty. Overall, just okay. I'd give it another go to see if it was just a first time fluke.

This was our 5th or 6th visit since they opened and our satisfaction has been less and less with each visit. First time was great in every way! Since then we have had steadily worse service, food, and wait times for drinks. The menu changed and they added some good stuff, but took away some other options and seriously raised the prices for a lot less! You should NEVER have to pay to add fries to a burger or sandwich at the prices they are charging!Beer selection is good, but too many servers have no clue what is available or what they are. Also pricey for the size of the glass. Wanted a great place local, but with a family $45 plus is a lot for the food type and quality. Many other options for taste and value. It is a shame!!!

  • Toni S.

The burger patties seemed like they were frozen and had no taste, however the toppings were good. Beer was great. Service was just ok. I would go back, but wouldn't order a burger again. $30 for 2 burgers and 2 beers.

First trip was underwhelming. Went back on a whim and was so impressed. Not sure what went wrong w first trip but I'm a fan now. Great variety of burgers. Very affordable, especially if you go with the 4 oz patty instead of the 8 oz, which I found plenty filling. Fries have become my favorite. On par with 5 Guys and Penn Station. Super family friendly place. Also good offering of craft beer.

The burgers/chicken sandwiches were so good. The service was also good. This place is nice and clean great customer service. Food came pretty fast. The only problem I see w/this place is that they need to offer smaller portions for kids or a kids menu. The give tootsie rolls w/ur bill.

Good atmosphere and friendly service. Spicy artichoke dip was very good but a little cold. I created my own burger (4oz) and got sweet potato chips. Burger was really good and juicy but my Bf's 8oz was dry and not cooked to order and pretzel bun was dense. His normal fries were soggy but still good enough to take home. My chips were chewy but still had flavor. The stout and wheat ales on tap were really good. However! If 5 guys burgers and fries served beer I dont think place would be in business.

My son and I late lunched here. The staff was sparse and seemingly uninterested in us but the food was good. We definitely would have them again. Portion sizes are very good but I was a bit disappointed in the appearance of the burger itself. I was expecting a juicy handmade patty but it looked very big box, frozen, and store-bought.

I went with a party of 9 and while the servers were pleasant, there were serious problems with the food and cleanliness. I opened the drink menu and noticed a fly was stuck to it. When our food came to our table, one in our group had mold on their bun. Everybody who ordered a burger received theirs sitting in a pool of juice which means they never let the burger rest. This also meant the bottom bun was soggy and fell apart making for an extremely messy meal. I would expect to get a top notch burger at a restaurant that "prides" itself on their burgers. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of their fries and root beer. This place is not worth the money. Stay home and make a better burger yourself!

Just had dinner there, three of us had eggs on our burgers the eggs were basically cracked from the shell and put on the burger, even tried to order another and it was just as bad. Burger had no flavor. Ordered a salad and expected it to come first but all the food was brought out at the same time. This is very well might be our lay trip, we could have went to Wendy's and spent $60 less. Over priced for the quality of product.

Very good burger bowl - I had the turkey buffalo and it was tasty. I sat in the bar and the service was very good. They make their own soda but I didn't try it - drank a Bells Two Hearted. Good beer. Fries were good with the Chipotle dipping sauce. I will definitely eat here again

Went here with a girlfriend and we were on a mission to find some awesome bloody Mary's and burgers, and boy did we hit the jackpot!! Their bloody Mary's come with this amazing seasoning (which we don't know the recipe because it was secret... Dang!), pepper jack cheese, a pickle spear, and bacon. It was so delicious we wanted 10 more! We both decided on building our own burger which was a fun adventure all on its own. The 4oz burger filled me up pretty well with the side of fries and drink, and the server was very informative and actually hilarious the entire time! There were good vibes all around and the service was awesome from the moment we walked in!! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a fun relaxing environment with great drinks and delicious juicy burgers!!

Initially my first experience at Bagger Dave's was extremely above par, especially for a burger place in the Fort Wayne area. They had just opened up recently, and I went along with my family to try them out. The Trainwreck burger that I had at that time was proper temperature, well seasoned with fresh prepared toppings that added a fitting melody without one flavor overpowering another. Along with this I had a side of fries that too, were very good, and at the time they had Sun King on tap, which compared to prices around the area, was about standard. My second visit to Bagger Dave's, for which I am writing this review for, was last night and could not have been more drastic of a change. We went in around 6 PM, so the restaurant was not very busy, maybe 3 or 4 other tables other than us, despite this our hostess, who was clearly on one of her first shifts of working, had to cover for our server for quite awhile until our actual server finally came out for our order. During our entire time there we only saw our server 3 times, once for our order, again before we had our food to exchange a drink mistake, and once more for the bill. This time the Trainwreck Burger was an absolute trainwreck. The sauteed mushrooms on the burger were past their prime, the lettuce limp and soggy, the Thousand Island dressing, for which the burger is touted for, was almost nonexistent. The burger itself was exceptionally bland, it did not seem to have been seasoned beyond whatever the grill had left on it from the previous cook. Out of all the ingredients on the burger, the bun was the only thing that really had any lasting taste, and I could not have been more disappointed. The rest of my family's orders were along the same lines, the BBQ chicken sandwich, and Turkey burger were both overcooked to a stringy marinated rubber. We had a Classic American burger with our order as well, which remained to be a decent, but by no means worth the price experience. Naturally you would assume that based on our experience with our orders, we would have said something or sent it back, etc. However upon our server finally returning to us to give us the check, she glanced at our less-than-half-eaten entrees, and asked us if we'd like a box. We replied "Umm, no..." expecting for some inquiry as to if we didn't like our meals, instead getting an "Ok" before she zoomed off again never to be seen again. If our server had been more attentive, and she had caught us at any point while we were attempting to eat our meals, then perhaps we could have exchanged our orders, or done something of the sort to improve our experience, but we were not given this chance. I've been in the restaurant business for a few years, and our server was not given that many tables to dictate that kind of shoddy service, perhaps 2 more had arrived before we had left. Along with this, the Two Hearted Ale I ordered was nearly the price of my burger, which is absolutely ridiculous considering we've sold it for much less in other restaurants, and you can pick up a 4 pack for a few dollars more in just about any liquor store, its not a rare beer. From what it seems, Bagger Dave's isn't putting in the same degree of care and pride in their food and service compared to when they were right out of the gate, and what makes that all the more disappointing is the high degree of potential the restaurant once had.

Food wasn't bad, however I would have expected a much better burger for the money. Service was terrible, our waitress was extremely rude and acted like we were stupid because we didn't know they made their own cola. My family and I went this one time and I don't see a return visit in our future. There are much better places in the area.

It was 7:45 pm and we only had to wait 15 min for a table, even though the place was busy. After seated, we were greeted by the sweetest waitress (Sammy). My meal started with a peanut butter cup shake and my husband got a 4 pack sampler of tap beer. For an appetizer the Bleu Buffalo Tavern Fries came highly recommended by our waitress. The Bleu cheese was a little over the top (and I do like Bleu cheese) but they were still very good. I got the American Cheeseburger (4 oz size) it was made very well and the toppings tasted wonderful on it, but next time I would get the 8 oz instead, because I could not taste the patty much. My husband got the California BLT, he loved it, it looked and sounded really good. We both got the fresh cut fries and devoured them... Delicious! Over all the food is good, their wait staff is great, and we really liked the atmosphere! We will be back

We went for dinner tonight. We got there at 5:20 and was able to get a high top in the bar. We tried a chocolate shake and a vanilla malt- both were great. I ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger with fries. I wasn't crazy about the bbq sauce nor the fresh cut fries. My husband ordered the all american cheeseburger with twisted mac n cheese. He enjoyed his burger. We both enjoyed the twisted mac n cheese! :) Next time I would try another sandwich (they have plenty of choices) and the chips. Or just get the mac n cheese. It seemed like everyone was seated at once. We waited about 30-40 min for the food. At least we were in the bar and had plenty of tv's to watch. Our waitress was great though...her name was Jackie G. She was very attentive.

There are some things I really like about Bagger Daves. The atmosphere is open and takes you back to childhood with the train rolling around the outside. Their draft beers while not many in number are unique. Their fries are done in an adventurous manner and the burgers are fun and push the normal boundaries a bit. However, that is where the like stops and the reality sets in. Unfortunately, Bagger Daves is just another burger joint that starts with some cache, but never really delivers a great product. I found the buns annoying, the burgers overly salted and the sauces just too odd. This place could be great but they need to go back to the kitchen and reevaluate their food. Let the burger speak for itself, it will be the best marketing you can enjoy.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to try this place out. Not the greatest idea I've ever had. It was like an overpriced Chipotle with burgers. Our dinner started out okay, nothing to write home about, until my boyfriend found what looked like a bandaid in his food. We finally were able to get the waitresses attention to give it to her. The manager came out and told us it was part of the paper they put between burgers...better than a bandaid, but still unappetizing. The manager comped our food which was appreciated and they get two stars for that. Their fries were great. The burger and mac and cheese were nothing special and our waitress was crabby up until we found the paper then she was back every 2 minutes to check on us. I won't be going back and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone either.

  • Darin C.

  • Stefan C.

Burgers

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup.
